FieldServer is in order to provide environment
monitoring technology even in outdoor and solve the rural problems such as
a ubiquitous network
environment and agricultural production monitoring in low cost.
Sensing network node in outdoor
FieldServer carrying out
multi-sensors is a kind of the universal sensing network
node. That can make real-time monitoring in the
practical farms or facilities. The new information such
as data in more high accuracy and variable
relationship can be minimized from the huge data
collected by the deployed sensors in the FieldServer in
different regions using synthesized statistic analysis.
The FieldServer monitoring network will be shared and
surfed to Internet if any one is connected to Internet
via broadband services such as ADSL, CATV, FTTH.
Ubiquitous network constructed by
AdHoc
The inconvenience life is problem in the rural
area. The ubiquitous network services anywhere even in the outdoor
can solve the inconvenience life problem in the rural area. In
contrast, the rural life enjoying the natural environment and fresh
food in low cost will be superior compared to the urban life for
releasing stress from the modern society. In fact, the population of
U-pattern (return to their hometown and I-pattern (return to a new
rural place) are increased to enjoy the agriculture and IT. By the
way, the ubiquitous network environment is essentially
required in the traceability system and digitalization and in
agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries for support safety
and reliable food production. In order to satisfied above
requirements, FieldServer provides the wireless broadband network
environment in high communication speed and in low cost.
Anywhere and anytime in the
world
Wi-Fi devices are suitable choice in the
world because wireless communication because of the restriction of
radio
law. Wireless communication in FieldServer is not only fixed such as
the general sensing network using special device, but also applied
to commercial wireless communication modules in high quality and low
cost. The wireless transmitter distance is covered in several
100 m to 1 km, or extend to several km to 10 km using beam antenna.
The ubiquitous Internet will be provided by FieldServer combined
with Wi-Fi technology. In the future, the more broadband
wireless transmitter network covered to 60 km will be expected to
extend by using WiMAX (IEEE802.16) and Adaptive Radio (IEEE802.22).
Comfortable life enjoying the nature and IT
Ubiquitous network and sensing
network environment in the rural areas is not only for
environment monitoring in real-time, but also for
enjoying the fishing and picnic, easily. The interesting
of green-tourism or eco-tourism is to enjoy and surf the
Internet at the natural environment even in the camping
time.
Applying new technologies immediately
FieldServer research term is always trace the IT
progress and apply the new devices and use the new IT services to
develop the field monitoring server in high-level configuration and
low cost. In fact, using the civil cheap parts and devices and
minimizing the special developing parts are in order to develop
FieldServer in low cost. The special parts is integrated to LSI chip
easily. Based on the Moor Law that quarter cost of
device will be decreased between three years. Therefore, FieldServer
will be make it possible to integrate all parts and devices to one
LSI chip.
Always online architecture
The core chip of FieldServer (Field Server
Engine) uses one chip microcomputer (H8 3069) which is 20 MHz CPU.
The field server engine without OS is in high speed and compact size
because of the web-server driving. Therefore, the sensing network
based on web-server is constructed easily by the sensing devices
driven by web-server. In Japan, the most proportion is farm
and forest, so the FieldServer is able to provide the HotSpot
function in low cost and high performance in the rural areas. As the
HotSpot, the FieldServer will be powered by solar panel.
FieldServer in one-chip
The final purpose of FieldServer is as a
multi-functions and low-cost in one-chip sensing network node to
improve the food and agriculture environment and provide comfortable
life environment by using the data grid from surrounding to global
scale. The sensing network node using in outdoor is required to
match a suitable size which is preferred and protected by living
persons and to realize low cost, durable and multi-functions.
Therefore, one-chip integration will be best requirement in
FieldServer.
